Transferring A Domain
We welcome anyone who would like to transfer their hosting to Active Web
Hosting. Transferring your domain may seem complicated but in reality it's quite
easy. And it is free when you sign up for hosting!
Transferring From Another Hosting Company Or Parked Page
To get started, be sure that your name is on the domain and that
you have full control to transfer the domain. You will need to contact
your former provider and/or where you registered your domain to be sure your
name is on the domain. Also be sure to ask them to unlock the domain so
you can transfer it.
Next, Sign Up for
hosting. When you agree to our terms statements and click the button at the
bottom, you will be taken to a page asking for some information. In the
Action drop down box, select Existing Domain. Then fill out the
rest of the form. We will transfer your domain for you.
You may also need additional information for server changes from your former
hosting company. Since procedures and information vary from one company to the
next, you'll need to contact the hosting provider you are transferring away
from for this information.

Usually, besides filling out our sign-up form, this may be the only other
information you'll need to be concerned about.
Transferring Ownership of a Domain
Transferring ownership of your domain is taken care of automatically when you
sign up for hosting for that domain, and transfer it to Active Web Hosting. If
the domain is already hosted on Active Web Hosting servers, the process is even
easier! Have the original domain owner contact us and provide your full
contact information, asking us to transfer the domain to you. We will cease
billing their account and will bill your account for hosting from that

Adding More Domains To Your Account
If you already have one or more domains hosted with us, each domain you add will
be added to the same account, so you can easily manage all your domains from one
convenient log-in to the Account Administration System. Just sign up the new
domain and we'll do the rest. In addition, the more domains you have online, the
more you save!

When Will You Be Online?
It can take from 24 - 36 hours before your domain is visible to everyone on the
internet. However you may be able to log into your FTP site and start
uploading your web site files sooner. For more information, please see our
