Transferring A Domain to Active Web Hosting
Active Web Hosting will transfer your domain free of charge as part of the
hosting service. Please be sure you actually have control of the domain you wish
to transfer. When you sign up, choose Existing Domain from the Action
drop down box on the sign up page. After your order is processed, you will get
an E-Mail with the new name servers to add to your domain. You will need to
know how to make the name server changes or contact the company where you
originally obtained your domain from. Since many companies have different
procedures for this, Active Web Hosting is unable to provide instructions for
making the name server changes from another hosting company.
Note that we do not automatically renew domains that have been transferred.
However, if the domain is a .com, .net, or .org, then about one month prior to
the domain's expiration, Active Web Hosting will make an offer to transfer the
domain to the registry service and pay the costs. Otherwise, you will need to
pay $30 to your Active Web Hosting account and
E-Mail us
to let us know you wish to have the domain renewed for another year. We'll
process the request and send you an invoice reflecting your payment. Note that
we can not process domains that are going to expire in less than 30 days.
