Blogs: Share Your Vacation!
While it's said that a picture is worth a thousand words, sometimes you still
need a few words to tell the whole story. Having an online journal, commonly
known as a blog can be just right for your vacation tales. In fact, even
after you're done with your vacation, your journal is still there for your
next vacation, the family reunion, holidays, or just any other life event
you feel is worth sharing.
There are many different types of Blog software, such as Wordpress (the most
common), and Greymatter. We have a few
Blog Installation Tutorials
available for you to take your pick. These tutorials will step you through the
process of installing and setting up your blog. Some of these, including
Wordpress, allow you to even add photos to your posts.
Vacation Blog
Share your photos and tales of your summer vacation. Did you go to the beach?
Perhaps you took a road trip across the country? Log into your blog from your
laptop in your hotel room, or even type in your journal when you get home. Keep
a daily record of the places you've been, a few photos of you in and friends and
family in these places, landmarks and tourist attractions, and a good nature
scene or two. Something funny happen to you on the way to the beach? Share a
joke or a prank? Find an inspirational moment of relaxation at the hot springs?
Tell all about it in your blog.
Family or School Reunion
This can be quite an interesting blog, especially if you allow others in the
family to also post and share their experiences! Some blogs allow for several
authors to log in and post. Let the entire family share photos and experiences!
Even share planning tips and experiences for others who may want to plan such
get-togethers.
Holidays and Special Occasions
Had a birthday party this summer? Or did Junior graduate from college? Perhaps
it is your grandparents' 50th Anniversary. Share the days leading up to the
event, the event itself, planning, and the get-together afterwards. Maybe even
share some memories of the years before the big event. Having the person the
party is for also post their thoughts and feelings surrounding the event would
make the blog extra special.
Your Online Journal
Even if your blog isn't specific to an event or trip that you took over the
summer, you can keep an online journal of your life, or your views on a certain
subject. There are also blogs on cooking, gardening, humor, hobbies, just about
anything. Create one for you to keep in touch with your long-distance family and
friends. Even if you're going back to school, taking on a new career, or just
your everyday life.
