There have been a few advancements in dealing with e-mail and the mail servers. We have added many features to assist you in dealing with the evil spam that is flooding all our e-mail boxes.

The first line of defense is a SpamAssassin tool that tests each message against a set of rules and applies a ranking as to the likelihood that a message is spam. The tool inserts a few headers into the message that you can use in your mail client to filter messages if you choose. If a message ranks at a level of 5 or greater then the subject is appended stating that the message is most likely spam. No message is ever deleted by this process.

Whitelisting has been also added to the mail server. With Whitelisting you can have every message that is sent to your email account verified that it is really being sent from a real person. Upon receiving a message the mail server will send a message to the sender asking them to click a link verifying there message. Each incoming email address is only verified once and then is added to a whitelist of email addresses. This process will not forward any message that the sender's email address is not in the whitelist of addresses.
