E-Mail Feedback Forms
One of the many features you probably have on your web site is a way for your
visitors to contact you. Comments and suggestions from your visitors may help
you decide what will bring more people to your web site, or may alert you to a
mistake. And everyone enjoys the compliments received for sharing their knowledge
and expertise.
A common method of providing an avenue of contact is by using a web link.
This is a normal link such as http://mailto:your_name@yourdomain.com for example.
A more useful approach in which you can also ask for more information from
your visitor is by using a feedback form. Typical feedback forms include
at minimum a place for the visitor to enter their name, E-Mail address and a
comment. You can ask other questions like where they heard of your site from or
what country they live in. You can also use feedback forms for surveys, quizzes
and other types of useful information which you would like to collect from your
visitors. Always be sure to consider your visitor's privacy rights, and not share
this information without informing the visitor who you share the information with.
Usually this is done by creating a privacy statement page and linking to it
on your web site.
Creating a Feedback Form is easy. Active Web Hosting provides all hosting accounts
with the use of a free E-Mail bot which can be used to gather information
from your visitors and send it to an E-Mail address of your choice. At minimum,
all messages sent from your web site must contain the visitor's E-Mail
address in order for the E-Mail bot to work. For full information, code and
complete instructions, please see our tutorial on
