Create A Custom 404 Error Page
You can have a custom 404 URL Not Found page to match your web site by following
Create a file called 404.html and upload it to the root directory of
your web space. Do not upload this file to any subdirectory. This file should
be a page that looks the way you would like your 404 URL Not Found page to look.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to have set your 404 eror page. Please be
sure to let us know the full path to your 404.html file. For
example: http://yourdomain.com/404.html where yourdomain.com
represents your actual domain name.
Please keep in mind that this method does not work for the CGI server. To
create a 404 Error Page which will work if someone visits a non-existant page on
your CGI server (ie. cgi.yourdomain.com), please see
How To Create A Custom 404 Page For The CGI Server
for more information.
