What is web related content?
Web related content is generally content that is
used to display a web page. This includes files with the extension .html, .htm,
.php, .cgi, .pl, .gif, .jpg, and .png. While some web pages have animation, music,
video, audio, downloads, and other files types, Active Web Hosting
does not consider these file types as Web Related Content.
We may or may not restrict sites that have non-web related content available. This
depends on the size of the file and how much
bandwidth
your site is using. In some cases, even normal web-related graphics images may cause
your site to slow down or be taken offline such as in the following instances:
- Image file sizes are too large and/or too many large images are displayed on a web page.
- Very large files of any type are being distributed on the server.
- Visitors to your web site are downloading too many large files from your site.
As a general rule, as long as you adhere to the
Active Web Hosting Subscriber Agreement & Contract
and keep your file sizes small, then you should have no problems with your web site.
Please note that in the case of images, image size is not the same as file size.
While an image may only be 1024 x 768 in size, the file size of the image may be
anywhere from 100K up to over 500K or more. You will need look at the file's size by right
clicking on the file in Windows Explorer or other file manager and noting the file's actual
size on the hard drive.
