It is not a good idea to store images or files directly in a MySQL database. Doing this will slow your database response down and can cause other errors or problems. Generally, Active Web Hosting does not allow your visitors to upload any files or images directly to your site due to security issues.

If you wish to store images or files that are searchable through your database, it is best to store the link to the image or file in the database or even the HTML <img src=> tag, but never the actual file.
