  3. Type in your full email address here and click the Next button.

  4. Type in your mail server, which is mail.yourdomain.com replacing yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.

  5. For your username, type in your full email address, not just the username itself. Active Web Hosting mail servers require a full email address for login. 7. Select whether you are using a dial-up connection (where you connect to the internet using a modem) or Network, usually meaning Cable Modem, DSL, firewire, wireless, or a computer connected to other computers in your home or office. Click the Next button when done. Then click the Finish button on the next screen. At this point you can click on the tabs to further configure your email options. Normally the default settings work for most. Click the OK button to finish your setup.

How to Receive Email

Click on the globe with the red arrow pointing away from it. It's the 2nd of the 3 globes on the right in the top toolbar. Alternatively, you can go into the File Menu and choose Check host for new mail.

How to Send Email

To send mail, click on the Write button in the toolbar. Alternatively, you can go into the File Menu move to New Message and choose Standard Message or hold down the CTRL key and press the 'N' key. Any of these methods will bring up the compose window. Type in the email address of the person you're sending email to in the To field, the Subject line in the Subj field, and then the message body in the large box below the fields. When done, click on the Send icon on the far right of the To and Subject fields.

Having Trouble Sending Email?

If you are having troubles sending Email, it may be due to your ISP locking the SMTP port to use only their server. You can try using Active Web Hosting's alternate SMTP port 587. If that doesn't work, you will have to use your ISP's SMTP server and log in with your ISP username and password for SMTP or sending mail only. You will need to contact your ISP for further instructions on setting up your email client to use their SMTP port.

To change the SMTP port, go into the Tools Menu, and select Internet Options. Now click on the Sending (SMTP) tab and select the smtp server you want to change. Click on the Edit Button. In the box next to Server TCP/IP port type in '587' without quotes. Click the OK buttons to get back to your Pegasus Mail main screen.
